Women's World Cup Winner

One of the premier women’s soccer coaches in the world at the collegiate and international levels. Dorrance’s University of North Carolina teams, the greatest dynasty ever in American college sports, won the NCAA woman’s soccer title 18 of the first 25 years that it was held and have included such stars as Mia Hamm, Carla Overbeck and April Heinrichs. He was coach of the U.S. Women’s National Team from 1986 to 1994, coaching it to victory in the first Women’s World Cup in 1991. Inducted in 2008.
