An official of the American Soccer League for decades, serving in such positions as secretary, vice president, business manager and executive secretary. Before becoming involved with administration of the league in 1947, he had been an official of the Brooklyn Hispano Club. Alonso was born in Spain and came to the United States as an infant in 1906. Over the years, he was a player, coach and official at Spanish clubs in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., and elsewhere. Inducted in 1972.
