Lawrence Briggs

Soccer coach at the University of Massachusetts for 37 years. Briggs, who became coach at UMass in 1930, was one of the original members of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America at that organization’s formation in 1941 and served as the NSCAA’s president in 1947. He also was involved in the movement that resulted in the formation of the National Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association. Inducted 1978.
