Reinhold Spath

A longtime referee and referee assessor in western New York. Spath, who was born in Germany and emigrated to the United States in 1959 at the age of 29, began refereeing in 1961 and eventually refereed in the North American Soccer League. In his 30 years as a referee, he refereed more than 5,000 games, and later assessed more than 1,000. Served as the state referee administrator for 1980 to 2002 and the state youth referee administrator from 1980 to 1999. Inducted in 1996.
