Leading administrator of American soccer in the first half of the 20th century and involved in the sport in a variety of ways. Cahill was the first general secretary of both the United States Football Association and the original American Soccer League after having been heavily involved in the founding of both of those organizations. He was the editor of the annual Spalding soccer guides and manager of the first three American teams to make European tours, in 1916, 1919 and 1920. Inducted in 1950.
