DJORN'S DJOURNAL: The Most Personalized Experience in Sports
FRISCO - We have been holding on to this secret for some time. There has been over a year of hard work from all partners involved in this project to see if we can really pull this off. But earlier this week we were finally able to reveal what is going to make this hall of fame different: Facial Recognition. It’s going to be the driving force behind the National Soccer Hall of Fame. And it’s going to make us the most personalized experience in sports!
We’ve had the great pleasure of working with NEC Corporation of American to integrate their facial recognition software, NeoFace, into the NSHOF. This software has typically been used for security to keep us safe in our everyday lives, but we now have the opportunity to change the narrative around the use of this technology from security to customer experience. And I couldn’t be more excited about that!
The process will be simple. As you enter the NSHOF, U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team players will welcome you on large screens and introduce you to the facial recognition registration process. This seamless process will start with us taking your photo. You will then be prompted to answer the following questions:
- Your home state
- Your favorite US based pro soccer teams up to 4
- Your favorite soccer position
- Your fandom level on a sliding scale
Based on your answers to these four simple questions, the 13 audio-visual experiences inside of the NSHOF will provide you information that we believe will be most interesting to you. No two people will have the same experience inside of the NSHOF making it the most personalized experience in sports!
And did I mention that we have artifacts as well? We have over 400 of them that will be on display! We had a great base of artifacts from the previous incarnation of the NSHOF, but we have been working hard to secure more items from our history and from the players that have made our sport what it is today. The ’91 and ’99 Women’s World Cup trophies are on site and in the next few weeks the ’15 trophy will be arriving as well! I can’t wait to open the doors to the public on October 24th and show you our collection.
Remember, you can come out and see the progress of the National Soccer Hall of Fame at any time. Simply line up your private stadium tour by calling 469-365-0122 or send an email to stadiumtours@fcdallas.com
58 days until we open the building with the 2018 Induction Ceremony and Imagine Dragons Concert, but who’s counting?
