Defender who played in the American Soccer League from 1936 to 1949. Weir, who emigrated from Scotland at the age of 19, played for St. Mary’s Celtic of Brooklyn, New York Americans, Brooklyn Wanderers and Brookhattan Galicia during his ASL career. He was captain of the St. Mary’s Celtic team that reached the final of the U.S. Open Cup in 1938. Inducted in 1975.
