Defender who played for the United States in the 1930 World Cup in Uruguay. Wood, who was born in Scotland and emigrated to the United States as a teenager in 1921, played four full internationals for the United States, three at the 1930 World Cup and one during the trip home from that World Cup. Before 1930, he had played for midwestern teams like Chicago Bricklayers and Holley Carburetor of Detroit and then played several seasons for English pro teams in the 1930s. Inducted in 1986.
