Forward who was a member of the United States squad at the 1930 World Cup in Uruguay. Gentle played for the Boston Wonder Workers in the 1925-26 American Soccer League season, and was playing for Philadelphia Field Club at the time of his selection to the World Cup squad in 1930. Later won a bronze medal in field hockey at the 1932 Olympic Games. Inducted in 1986.
