Forward who was captain of the New York Americans team that won the American Soccer League-U.S. Open Cup double in 1954. Monsen played nine seasons in the ASL, all of them for New York Americans and the team that it merged with, Hakoah, with whom he won ASL titles in 1957, 1958 and 1959. Played five full internationals for the United States between 1952 and 1957, including one in front of a crowd of 107,765 in Scotland. Inducted in 1994.
