Midfielder who was captain of the U.S. Men’s National Team for much of the 1980s and was one of the few Americans in the New York Cosmos’ galaxy of international stars. Davis played 36 full internationals for the United States, including World Cup qualifiers in 1980, 1984, 1985 and 1988, and he also represented the United States in the 1984 and 1988 Olympic Games. He played seven seasons for the Cosmos, and was a member of the Cosmos NASL champion teams in 1978, 1980 and 1982. Inducted in 2001.
